Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our Finance Department in Salford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the coordination and administration of payrolls for the Fire Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update payroll records and spreadsheets.
  • Process monthly company payrolls from start to finish.
  • Prepare and complete payroll-related reports.
  • Work with departmental managers to ensure accurate and up-to-date payroll information is received.
  • Complete month-end tasks, including P45s, FPS, EPS, and electronic payslips.
  • Enter new starters and leavers into the company pension scheme.
  • Produce pension reports and upload them to the pension provider portal.
  • Prepare a listing of all AOE payments each month, including payment details.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding payroll.
  • Process leavers and administer related tasks in SAGE and the employee database.
  • Control payroll-related HR paperwork.
  • Correspond with employees regarding changes in payroll and deductions.

Requirements:

  • End-to-end payroll processing experience.
  • SAGE 50 payroll experience is highly desirable.
  • Numerate with excellent Excel and data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to work to deadlines with minimal supervision.
