About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Advance. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and mental health conditions to live the lives they choose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, ensuring the well-being and dignity of our customers.
  • Administer medication, as required, in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Support with preparing and cooking meals, promoting healthy eating habits and independence.
  • Accompany customers to medical appointments, providing emotional support and advocacy.
  • Engage in social activities, fostering meaningful relationships and a sense of community.
  • Support customers with independent skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Maintain accurate records and update care plans as required, ensuring seamless communication with our team.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, enhancing your skills and knowledge in social care.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing situations, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills in English, with the ability to complete quality support records.
  • Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments, maintaining customer records and confidentiality.
