Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a Mechanical Craftsperson, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including boilers, steam systems, medical gases, heating, hot water, and building services.
- Participate in the on-call rota and be available to undertake overtime when required by the service.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the optimal performance of our systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to identify potential issues and take corrective action.
- HNC or HND or equivalent experience plus completion of a time-served apprenticeship.
- Full conversance with core trade, Mechanical, and a good working knowledge of associated trades, electrical and gas.
- Good understanding of asbestos awareness and ability to deal with suspicious samples and work in the vicinity of asbestos products.
- Appropriately empowered via training and/or experience to undertake statutory tasks, Gas Safe, sterilisers, etc.
- Full conversance with the Health Board's Fire Defence Policy.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant HTM's, Gas Safe / Oftec registered.
- Hospital engineering experience.
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1).
