Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to join our growing team in this exciting new opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing new products, continuously improving procedures and processes, capturing and managing design requirements, and ensuring Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture, and Design for Test best practices are followed.

This role requires participation in product roadmapping, maintaining awareness of current industry trends, and collaborating with suppliers to leverage emerging technologies. Additionally, the candidate will provide technical support to Sales, Marketing, Operations, and external customers when more in-depth product knowledge is required.

Responsibilities
  • Product Design and Development: Designing and developing new electronics products, including high- and low-volume product development, with a mix of analog and digital electronic development experience.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refining and defining procedures and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design Requirements Management: Capturing, specifying, and managing design requirements, as well as undertaking and/or supervising verification and validation of new product designs.
  • Technical Expertise: Applying expertise to the design of electronics products, advancing the capabilities of the department, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Best Practices: Ensuring that Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture, and Design for Test best practices are followed.
  • Product Roadmapping: Participating in the definition of product roadmaps and maintaining an awareness of current industry trends.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborating with suppliers to leverage emerging technologies and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Tech Support: Providing technical support to Sales, Marketing, Operations, and external customers when more in-depth product knowledge is required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Relevant engineering degree such as Electronics or related field.
  • Experience: High and low volume product development experience, with a mix of analog and digital electronic development experience for regulated markets requiring standards adherence and certification.
  • Six Sigma Background: Six-Sigma background or equivalent experience.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
