Product Engineering Manager Job Description

At Reed Engineering, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineering Manager to lead our team of Product / Assistant Product Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or electronics engineering and a passion for product development and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical products in collaboration with manufacturing partners, establishing product specifications, writing product briefs, and assessing samples.
  • Coordinate testing of products in development and investigate any product issues.
  • Establish product and packaging labelling and marking requirements, including labels, instruction leaflets, and data sheets.
  • Work with the Quality Team to investigate product problems, report findings, and manage product improvements with partner factories.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant safety standards and directives, including EMC, REACH, and RoHS.
  • Produce and maintain technical literature, including product specifications and packaging specifications.
  • Conduct factory audits and pre-delivery inspections as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical support files, including WEEE and packaging weight data.

Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
