Job Summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development and support our client's NET Zero aspirations.

About the Role

This is a home-based national role with travel to our offices and various project sites across the UK as needed. You will need to be comfortable with occasional overnight stays. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management and sustainability, with experience in developing and implementing environmental strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure site compliance with all environmental management systems, including legislation.
  • Capture environmental and sustainability data and compile reports for Dalkia UK and our client.
  • Lead on providing advice on pollution prevention, waste reduction, and management, and the prevention of environmental incidents.
  • Support and advise our Facilities Management and Project Teams on all environmental aspects and impacts.
  • Work closely with our client to support their Net Zero sustainability strategies.
  • Be the subject matter expert on energy efficiency and retrofit, keeping up to date with new initiatives.
  • Lead and organize site audits across the contract and duty of care audits with sub-contractors.
  • Work closely with our QSHE team to ensure operational risk is assessed and effective controls are in place.
  • Be responsible for producing Key Performance Reports to meet compliance obligations for operational permits.
  • Create before and after case studies demonstrating the improvements made and the carbon efficient outcomes as a result of the works completed.
  • Lead and promote environmental and sustainability awareness through training, briefings, poster campaigns, initiatives, and other communication methods.

Requirements

  • IEMA Environmental Management certification.
  • ISO 14001 Awareness.
  • IT Literate in MS Office tools.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IOSH / NEBOSH certification.
  • PTLLS certification.
