Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of plant and machinery, ensuring maximum availability and productivity in line with company procedures and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the Plant Engineering team, ensuring team members meet their objectives, job responsibilities, and support their personal development plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the maintenance of plant and machinery, ensuring maximum availability and productivity.
  • Oversee the Plant Engineering team, ensuring team members meet their objectives and job responsibilities.
  • Carry out inspections, diagnose faults, and defects on plant equipment and components.
  • Support operatives and employees in preventive maintenance checks, services, and general maintenance/repairs of plant equipment.
  • Perform emergency call-out repairs as required.
  • Participate in and support planned maintenance shutdowns.
  • Report daily plant availability to management.
  • Ensure all teamwork aligns with safe systems of work and that PPE and safety equipment are used at all times.
  • Take responsibility for your own health and safety, as well as that of others affected by your actions at work.
Requirements

We require:

  • A strong background in engineering and experience in team supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and time management.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Possession of practical leadership skills and experience in the waste industry would be beneficial.
