Aerospace Leadership Position

This leading company in their field is seeking a highly experienced Head of Purchasing with a background in Engineering, including exposure to electronics components, to define and deliver the global supply chain strategy for the business, delivering maximum value to all stakeholders.
With a great culture based in modern facilities within a lovely location just outside of Cambridge, you will be responsible for managing all procurement activities, playing a critical role in optimising costs, ensuring the timely delivery of products and services as well as building strong supplier relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and delivering the global supply chain strategy

- Optimising costs and ensuring timely delivery of products and services
- Building strong supplier relationships
Requirements include:
- Proven track record for reducing costs
- Experience of offshore contract manufacturing management
- Ability to provide clear direction to your team
- Leadership skills
- Experience working with global suppliers
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to remain informed when dealing with large volumes of information and prioritise issues within a complex organisation
- Strong influencing / negotiation skills
- Ability to work with stakeholders across multiple disciplines
- Prepared to travel internationally
Desirable qualifications include:
- Degree qualified
- Professional qualification such as MCIPS
- Strong Excel skills
- Detailed Microsoft AX knowledge
Due to the travel involved with this role, you need to have a full, clean driving licence & your own car. Travel expenses will be paid.
