Urology Clinical Fellow Position

About the Role
Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Urology to join our team. This is a middle-grade fixed-term position for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of day-to-day Urology services under the supervision of the Urology Surgery consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a robust service, including all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.
- Responsible for covering colleagues' periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.
- Clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
- Responsible for carrying out teaching, examination, and accreditation duties as required and contributing to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives.
- Responsible for out-patient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by Croydon Health Services.
- Contribute to departmental research interests in accordance with the Trust's R&D framework.
- Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the Trust's Objectives.
Person Specification
- Basic Medical degree and full GMC registration.
- oMRCS or appropriate higher surgical qualification of an equivalent level.
- Relevant postgraduate or higher university research degree.
- National Health Service experience in: Outpatient clinics/Operating theatre lists/Ward rounds.
- oPrevious middle-grade experience.
- oUrology experience.
- Understanding and knowledge of: principles of clinical governance, morbidity and mortality, research methodology.
- oPresentations at regional, national, or international meetings.
- oPeer-reviewed publications.
- Experience in: undergraduate medical student or postgraduate doctor teaching.
- oFaculty surgical courses.
- oTeaching qualification.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of multidisciplinary working.
- Caring and responsible attitude to colleagues and patients.
