Department/Role Overview

Ashurst is seeking a seasoned IT professional to lead our Global Infrastructure Team. This critical role will be responsible for fostering collaboration across Compute, Network, and Collaboration services, ensuring seamless support and services across regions and time zones.

The successful candidate will possess excellent coordination, stakeholder, and team management skills, with a proven ability to deliver and continuously enhance our services. They will collaborate closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager in AUS to prioritize and allocate both BAU and project work, ensuring compliance with processes and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Manage the UK-based team and work closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager in AUS to provide support and services across regions and time zones.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Support BAU maintenance activities, including planning and execution of global infrastructure upgrades.
  • Prioritize and allocate BAU and project work.
  • Ensure best practice and agile working methods are followed from a delivery perspective.
  • Support Major Incident resolution activities.
  • Foster cooperation and collaboration across the Compute, Network, and Collaboration teams.

Strategic Planning and Alignment

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement infrastructure strategies that support business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other IT leaders to understand business needs and respond with agility to changing priorities.
  • Ensure that infrastructure plans align with the overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Ensure all activities and duties comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor infrastructure performance and service levels, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Deliver and develop regular management reports to drive BAU activity, improve performance, and ensure compliance.
  • Highlight opportunities to maintain and improve SLA performance for incidents, service requests, problems, and changes.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure service quality and value for money.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their infrastructure needs and ensure these are met effectively.
