We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Schools Project Officer to join our team at the Diocese of Canterbury. As a key member of our Children, Young People and Education team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of school sites and buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for projects concerning school estates, including building developments, maintenance, and repairs.
- Support the oversight of related grant funding and manage bespoke projects, such as promoting decarbonisation initiatives for church schools.
- Advise school leaders and governors on school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.
- Facilitate communication between internal and external teams, providing support through monitoring projects and making proactive enquiries to sustain progress.
- Manage grants held by the Diocese and liaise with schools regarding suitable projects and available funding.
- Support schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects, updating and signposting them to practical materials and resources.
- Experience in business administration, estate management, or project support.
- Ability to apply understanding to tasks and summarise complex information clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.
- Supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.
