Weekend Volunteer Programme Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Weekend Volunteer Programme at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As the Weekend Volunteer Programme Lead, you will be responsible for managing the weekend volunteer team, planning activities and events, and ensuring the smooth operation of the programme.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing volunteer programmes, leading teams, and developing creative activities for children and young people. They will also possess excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities- Manage the weekend volunteer team, including recruitment, induction, training, and supervision.
- Plan and deliver activities and events for children and young people, including arts and crafts, games, and physical activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain volunteers, including volunteer recognition and reward schemes.
- Work closely with the Head of Volunteer Services to ensure the programme meets the needs of the hospital and its patients.
- Experience in managing volunteer programmes, leading teams, and developing creative activities for children and young people.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children procedures and confidentiality.
