About the Role:

Merje, a leading financial planning and wealth management firm, is seeking a Compliance Risk Management Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis.

Job Description:

  • Undertake the risk-based second line monitoring function to ensure the effectiveness of compliance controls in place within the business.
  • Assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance & Risk in delivering the annual routine compliance monitoring plan and reprioritising it each quarter based on emerging risks.
  • Conduct routine, discovery, and thematic reviews as required, producing draft reports for approval by the Head of Regulatory Compliance & Risk.
  • Investigate significant breaches of company procedure or FCA rules indicated by risk indicators.
  • Stay up-to-date with Consumer Duty training and regulations affecting financial planning operations and administration.
  • Supervise client interactions, ensuring fair treatment and acting in their best interests when executing administrative tasks related to client assets, reporting, and queries.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a compliance monitoring function within a financial planning and/or investment management business.
  • Good understanding of financial planning markets.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of the financial planning process through relevant industry exams and CPD, including products, funds, pensions, markets, appropriate financial instruments, regulatory standards, and their relevance to private clients.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent questioning, listening, and report writing skills.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
