About the Role

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHSFT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Fellow to join our Early Phase Trials Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative early phase research and contributing to the development of new treatments for cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a diverse range of clinical research trials as a co-/sub-investigator and manage all aspects of trial patients.
  • Attend trial outpatient clinics, Safety Review Committee meetings, molecular tumour board meetings, and wait list meetings to discuss trial patients and agree opportunities for patients to enrol in early phase trials.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of trial patients, including presenting research work, participating in audits, writing papers and reviews, and contributing to clinical governance.
Requirements
  • Completion of Internal Medicine Training (IMT, previously CMT) to IMT2 or above, or acute care common Stem programme (or equivalent).
  • MRCP or equivalent, or willingness to work toward MRCP.
  • GMC registration.
  • Experience managing oncology or haemato-oncology patients is required for this role.
  • Understanding of research processes and clinical trials.
  • Evidence of clinical leadership skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • CCT in Medical Oncology.
  • Good Clinical Practice Certification.
  • Advanced Life Support.
  • Higher degree in cancer research.
  • Experience in conducting early phase research.
