An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Engineer at Prime Appointments, covering a fixed-term contract to support paternity leave. As a Mechanical Engineer with ONC or above qualification, you will play a key role in developing new and existing products from concept to manufacture.

Job Description

You will be responsible for managing projects, defining project objectives, tracking costs, and ensuring timely delivery. Your expertise in Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety functions will ensure compliance with regulations, and you will lead a junior member of staff to achieve company goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver projects within budget and on time
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Outline budget based on requirements, tracking costs, and reporting on project status
  • Oversight of Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety functions
  • Leading one junior member of staff

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and project management skills, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices. Experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft packages is essential, and a design background in rubber compression mould tooling would be beneficial.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • ONC/HNC/HND/Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Extensive SolidWorks experience and Microsoft package skills
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
Benefits

Prime Appointments offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays and free onsite parking.
