Experienced Teaching Assistant for Boys' Special School

Tradewind Recruitment has partnered with a boys' Special School in Birmingham to recruit a dedicated Special Educational Needs Assistant. The school supports pupils with KS1, KS2, and KS3 who require special educational support due to their SEN status or EHC plan.
We are searching for an individual with a background in supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour. A strong preference is given to those holding Team Teach training. Essential qualifications and skills include:
- Significant experience of supporting children with SEMH
- Effective management of challenging behaviour
- Practical experience in supporting children in Literacy, Numeracy, and SEND
- In-depth understanding of child development and learning principles
- Superb team-working abilities, combined with self-motivation and initiative-taking skills
- A flexible mindset, embracing both strategic teamwork and autonomous work practices
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, fostering positive connections with children, colleagues, and families
This position comes with a competitive annual salary between £28,000 and £32,000, influenced by your experience. We also offer:
