About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Mental Health Matters, a national charity with over 40 years of experience in delivering high-quality mental health and social care services. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping people with mental health needs to find meaningful and fulfilling employment.

You will work directly with clinicians, employers, and other external agencies to secure employment opportunities related to a person's preferences and to support individuals to remain in employment as part of their recovery. This is a unique chance to make a genuine impact on the lives of people using our services by supporting them to work towards their employment goals.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting individuals with a range of mental health needs. You will be dedicated to empowering individuals to identify and overcome barriers related to their goals to support them to work towards their recovery. You will have experience of working with individuals to help them to achieve their employment goals and have the ability to engage with employers to explore employment opportunities and promote good mental health in the workplace.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate an understanding of sensitive and complex issues relating to individuals' mental health needs. You will be able to plan and prioritise your workload to meet the demands of an active and varied caseload. You will be able to demonstrate good IT skills enabling you to perform all relevant administrative duties to support service provision.

What We Offer

We offer a comprehensive, in-person training program in your first week of employment which will give you the tools you need to succeed in the role. You will also receive a minimum of 25 days annual leave per annum, plus statutory holidays, rising with length of service. A 5% contributory pension scheme, with the opportunity to increase contributions, is also available. You will receive a tailored induction and probation review program which will give you the tools you need to succeed in the role. Our structured career development pathways and support from our accredited Learning Team will provide you with advice and guidance on how to access development to allow you to flourish in your chosen career.
