Job Title: Food Waste Plant Operator

CV Library is working with a leading company in the Anaerobic Digestion sector to find a skilled Plant Operator to join their team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Operator to work on a day shift, maintaining and operating the plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe receipt of food waste deliveries, ensuring the AD process runs efficiently, and operating plant equipment such as telehandlers and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate and maintain plant equipment, including telehandlers and other machinery, to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  2. Oversee the safe receipt of food waste deliveries and ensure the AD process runs efficiently to meet site targets.
  3. Maintain high levels of cleanliness on-site through general housekeeping duties.
  4. Maintain accurate records as required by management, including safety, compliance, and operational data.
  5. Follow all relevant company policies, procedures, and safety systems to maintain operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in plant and machinery operation, specifically telehandlers.
  2. Familiarity with SCADA systems, weighbridge operations, and food de-packaging equipment.
  3. Willingness to work weekends, bank holidays, and participate in the call-out/standby rota as needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Certification in telehandler operation or other heavy machinery.
  2. Experience in the waste management or anaerobic digestion industry.
  3. IT literacy to operate site monitoring systems and basic software.
