Clinical Fellow

The Clinical Fellow in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine will play a key role in the inpatient ward teams under the supervision of Infectious Diseases Consultants. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the national referral centre for Tropical Medicine and tertiary Infectious Diseases service.
This post is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in Tropical Medicine/Infectious Diseases with a view to pursuing specialty training in Infectious Diseases.
Main Duties- Work in the inpatient infection service at UCLH and support the HIV service based at the Mortimer market centre.
- Attend a rich program of learning and training opportunities throughout the week.
- Be on the on-call rota for Infectious Diseases at registrar level, including ward cover for ID inpatients, admitting referrals to ID from the Emergency Department, and providing advice over the phone to referring hospitals with the support of the on-call consultant.

Person Specification- Completion of all parts of MRCP.
- Completion of internal medicine training or equivalent competencies.
- Experience in clinical infectious diseases including imported infections.
- Ability to manage common acute and chronic infectious diseases.
- Good practical skills.
- Ability to teach and train junior staff.
- Evidence of commitment to pursue a career in infectious diseases or related specialties.
- Evidence of participation in audit and quality improvement.
