About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Consents Management Consultancy (CMC) team at Ardent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering complex consent and land activities across various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate various disciplines, including planning, legal, land, environmental, and stakeholder management, to secure consent or maintain compliance post-award.
  • Develop and manage consent project schedules, risk registers, and budgets.
  • Oversee post-award deliverables to ensure compliance, including discharge of requirements, commitments, conditions, and obligations.
  • Produce and update strategies, project execution plans, work package plans, reports, and risks, costs, programme, and quality metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including internal, external, residential, statutory, or governmental parties.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in complex, high-profile consented construction works.
  • Experience working with large planning consents, such as Transport & Works Act Orders, Development Consent Orders, parliamentary, or Hybrid Bills.
  • Knowledge of legal matters, environmental issues, or Town & Country Planning consents.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a diverse team of specialist consultants, advisors, and contractors.
  • Understanding of the transition from pre-construction planning consent to commencement on site, including allocation and handover of consents and obligations.
  • Ability to identify key risks and opportunities associated with large-scale consents and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of contractual issues and agreements.
  • Experience with planning and project management processes, compliance, and tools, such as MS Excel, MS Project, ARM, or equivalent.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Mindset and ability to develop a positive Health, Safety, and Welfare culture.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and effectively manage a team of people, leading by example in line with Ardent's guiding principles.
Desirable
  • Experience working in construction or engineering delivery phases of projects.
  • Project management qualification or legal, town planning, environmental, or construction qualification.
