**Job Summary**

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Finance Officer. This position requires a strong understanding of financial management principles and the ability to provide support and guidance to the Debt Recovery Team.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Establish and maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the development of robust financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Debt Recovery Team to maximize income collection and ensure efficient and creative solutions.
  • Manage performance and deliver on outcomes identified within council and departmental plans.
  • Collaborate with existing Client Financial Services and Exchequer Managers, Finance Business Partners, Legal Services, and Service Managers to achieve shared goals and objectives.

**Requirements**

  • Substantial experience of managing a complex finance function.
  • Excellent understanding of Care Act legislation in relation to Adult Social Care funding and charging.
  • Ability to support the development of professional autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

**Working Arrangements**

This is a hybrid working role, requiring the successful candidate to work from the office and at home on alternate weeks.
