We are a leading online recruitment agency providing job seekers with access to various job opportunities across different industries. We are currently looking for a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in a new build housing environment.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of roads and sewers, groundworks, and civils construction, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Comprehensive review of tender scope and information, including raising RFIs as necessary.
  2. Undertake site visits and risk analysis to inform estimates.
  3. Interpret ground conditions from Site Investigation reports to ensure accurate measurements.
  4. Take-off and measurement using 2D & 3D software and spreadsheet templates, covering:
  • S104 Adoptable sewers & drainage
  • S38 Adoptable carriageways
  • S278 Adoptable highway works
  • Earthworks modelling
  • Residential dwellings substructure from footing to floor slab
  • External works
  • Private drainage and attenuation
Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations to inform estimates.Review outputs and programme requirements with Contracts Managers to ensure alignment.BUILD RATES FROM FIRST PRINCIPLES.Prepare tender adjudication and submission documents for review by the Managing Estimator.Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar groundworks/civils environment.
  • Strong self-motivation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to integrate well with a small team of collaborative Estimators.
  • Understanding of traditional groundworks activities, including road and sewer construction, foundations, and earthworks.
  • Ability to assess scope of work from drawings and specifications.
  • Proven take-off and measurement skills.
  • Ability to build rates from first principles.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with estimating software such as Causeway/ConQuest is desirable.
Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum
