Job Title: 2nd Line IT Engineer

Location: Central Preston

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd Line IT Engineer to join our team in Preston. You will provide technical support, troubleshoot complex IT issues, and ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems. You will work closely with our 1st Line support team, escalating and resolving technical problems while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd Line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage escalated tickets from the 1st Line team, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server, Office 365, and networking infrastructure.
  • Assist with IT projects, deployments, and system upgrades.
  • Document technical processes and solutions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Office 365 and applications.
  • Network troubleshooting (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN setups).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
