Job Overview

Academics Ltd, a renowned institution, is seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing individual to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role offers a unique opportunity to support children with diverse needs, including autism, speech and language needs, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will learn about the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional needs of each student and how to best support them.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SEN and be able to identify triggers and barriers to learning. They will implement psychological theory in the classroom and ensure every student feels safe and supported. If you are a Psychology Graduate looking to gain experience working with vulnerable children, this is a great place to start.

About the Role

This position is perfect for a friendly and positive individual who is passionate about supporting children. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a fun and engaging learning environment. The role offers a chance to network with Psychologists and Therapists based at the school and potentially pursue a career in teaching or education.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist students with diverse needs in a supportive and inclusive environment
* Identify triggers and barriers to learning and develop strategies to overcome them
* Implement psychological theory in the classroom to promote student engagement and well-being
* Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field
* Experience working with children with special needs (desired but not required)
* Strong understanding of SEN and ability to identify triggers and barriers to learning
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
