**Tax Manager - Trusts & Estates**
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team in the Trusts and Estates department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing technical advisory work, and dealing with complex tax issues.
The ideal candidate will have experience in advising on a wide range of tax issues, including trusts, estates, and personal tax anti-avoidance legislation. You will also have excellent technical skills, with a strong understanding of general private client tax issues.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage a client portfolio, including trusts and estates, with multiple sources of income and gains.
- Drive the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio.
- Deal with one-off advisory and compliance assignments.
- Be a key point of contact for clients.
- Deal with a range of capital gains tax and inheritance tax issues.
- Oversee the UK tax return filling process for a broad variety of clients.
- Monitor work progress against targets.
- Provide feedback and give input into staff appraisals.
- Monitor progress and encourage the personal development of all team members.
**Requirements:**
- CTA and/or STEP Qualified, or other professional qualification with demonstrable relevant experience.
- UK trust account preparation and inheritance tax accounts/computations.
- Advanced understanding of general private client tax issues, including personal tax anti-avoidance legislation.
- Confidently interacts with HMRC regarding complex issues on behalf of clients.
- Delivers advice confidently in transactional, litigious, or confrontational circumstances.
- Experience in Self-Assessment and preparation of tax computations for private clients, particularly as it relates to Trusts and estates.
- Demonstrable experience of report writing and ad hoc advisory work.
