The Radiation Protection Team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for ensuring the safe use of non-ionising and ionising radiations across the trust and other client sites. As a Radiation Protection Specialist, you will play a key role in leading the delivery of non-ionising radiation protection services and supporting ionising radiation protection and radiology physics services.

You will be appointed as the Trust Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and other organisations, including NHS Trusts, independent healthcare providers, corporate bodies, and others. Your broad knowledge of radiation protection will also be required to support other functions of the department, including X-ray quality assurance, radioactive materials management, auditing of ionising and non-ionising radiation use, providing training to all levels of staff, and staff radiation dosimetry.
