Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to lead our non-ionising radiation protection services. As a key member of our Radiation Protection Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe use of non-ionising and ionising radiations across our trust and other client sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the delivery of non-ionising radiation protection services and support ionising radiation protection and radiology physics services
* Appointed as the Trust Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) at UHS and other organisations
* Provide training to all levels of staff on radiation safety and dosimetry
* Support the department's functions, including X-ray quality assurance, radioactive materials management, and auditing of radiation use

Requirements

* Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Collaborative approach and excellent communication skills
* Ability to present complex data to large and varied audiences
* Microsoft Office skills and ability to use and develop software
* PhD in a Physics-related subject (desirable)
* Experience of working with quality management systems (desirable)
