About the Role

The Knowledge Management Researcher will provide high-quality legal research, information, and knowledge management services to colleagues across the Irwin Mitchell Group. This role is focused on enabling our colleagues to provide excellent legal advice to their clients/contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a full range of research-based services to the Group and its clients, focusing on the delivery of high-quality, timely, accurate, and insightful legal research; analysis and current awareness.
  • Work with the Research Team Manager to proactively engage with key stakeholders to assess the legal research needs of each practice area and ensure that these needs are met.
  • Utilize key internal and external resources to deliver comprehensive support and ensure that the presentation of research and analysis is accessible and appropriate for the audience.

About You

  • A degree or post-graduate qualification in Information and Library Management, Information Science, or a related subject.
  • Proven ability to conduct legal research across subscription databases (including Lexis and Westlaw), publicly available databases, and information sources, delivering high-quality and targeted results to internal and external clients in line with their specific requirements.
  • Successful track record operating as a member of an Information Services or Knowledge Management team in a legal environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize own workload, manage competing demands, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills and the ability to present research effectively in both a written and verbal format, imparting information and analysis clearly, concisely, effectively, and objectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships internally and externally, in particular while working as part of a virtual team.
