About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Directorate Manager to lead the newly formed General Internal Medicine Directorate at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Ensure the effective management of the Directorate's services, meeting agreed objectives and targets.
  • Financial Management: Be accountable for the delivery of income and expenditure balance for the Directorate.
  • Business/Policy/Planning: Deliver the annual capacity and business planning process for the Directorate.
  • Service Transformation and Development: Lead the Directorate in service redesign and development, responding to changing environments.
  • People Management: Motivate and manage non-clinical and nursing staff within the Directorate.
  • Governance: Develop a strategy to enhance quality standards within the Directorate.
Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Pragmatic diplomatic management of situations and processes.
    • Displays strong motivation and commitment to success.
    • Ownership of personal development.
    • Resilience to work with competing demands and maintain high-quality work.
  • Experience:
    • Experience at a senior management level in an acute setting.
    • Proven record of pro-active management to achieve key performance targets.
    • Demonstrable experience of service redesign/business planning and change management initiatives.
    • Track record of effective financial management.
  • Qualifications:
    • First degree or professional academic qualification.
    • Relevant Management qualification or equivalent.
    • Masters degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Skills/Knowledge:
    • Ability to analyse issues and make judgements on a wide range of general management subjects.
    • Excellent communications skills.
    • Able to form effective working relationships and partnerships.
    • Well-developed IT skills.
