Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our Engineering team in a hybrid role that combines office and remote work. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving our Safety Management Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the Safety Management Plan across the organization.
- Establish and maintain a just safety culture, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and review safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective measures to drive safety excellence.
- Ensure that all changes to products, systems, and services undergo thorough safety assessments and governance.
- Promote a safety culture across the business, managing awareness and understanding campaigns.
Requirements:
- Experience in implementing culture change and new ways of working.
- Formal training or qualifications in Safety Management or System Safety Engineering.
- Experience in Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) and safety case creation.
- Minimum 5 years of functional safety management experience.
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of JSP185 and DEFSTAN00-056.
- Experience in embedding safety management systems within the Defence or Maritime Industries.
