Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at an SEN Hub in Swadlincote. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND needs
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies
  • Provide personal care and support students with challenging behavior
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with SEND
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents and relevant stakeholders
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with SEND
  • Knowledge and understanding of strategies for supporting students with SEND
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Commitment to promoting the well-being and academic success of all students
