We are currently seeking an exceptional Front Desk Professional to join our team at Hawthorn Medical Centre in Paulton.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting the healthcare team in their daily activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • To act as the main point of contact between patients, doctors, managers, and other team members via telephone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Maintain a friendly and efficient working environment where doctors can perform their duties with confidence, knowing that all administrative tasks are being handled safely.
  • Operate the computerized appointment system according to established protocols.
  • Provide and receive information through various mediums, including face-to-face, phone, writing, or electronic communication, and ensure messages are passed to the appropriate person when necessary.
  • Enter home visit requests onto the practice's computer system, extract summary printouts, and bring emergency requests to the attention of the duty doctor.
  • Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients registering with the practice and register them on the computer system.
  • E nsure procedures and forms are completed for patients seeking temporary medical cover.
  • Ensure adequate stationery stocks for use by doctors and reception staff and replenish as needed.
  • Effectively hand over responsibilities during shift changes to maintain continuity.
  • Keep office and reception areas tidy and safe, reporting any malfunctions to the Senior Receptionist or Practice Manager promptly.
  • Be flexible to offer holiday and sick cover as required.
  • Participate in in-house and external training to develop relevant skills for the role.
Requirements and Salary

This role requires a strong understanding of administration and customer service principles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

£25,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
