We are looking for an exceptional Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to join our team at SYSTRA UK & Ireland. As a seasoned professional, you will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering complex projects within tight deadlines.

In this role, you will lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and act as MEP Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and/or Lead Engineer on MEP projects. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed to meet all client's requirements, applicable standards, and to the agreed project programme.

The salary for this position is £85,000 - £115,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role would ideally be based in Birmingham or York, with Manchester, Reading, and London as additional possibilities, adopting a hybrid working model blending home working with time in the office to collaborate with colleagues on projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and act as MEP Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and/or Lead Engineer on MEP projects.
  • Involved in major projects within the Engineering discipline covering both rail and non-rail services.
  • Ensure projects are completed to meet all client's requirements, applicable standards, and to the agreed project programme.

Requirements:
  • Minimum HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Considerable experience and expertise to manage complex or non-standard design solutions.
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical services design within the built environment or transport infrastructure.
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with M&E and building services.
