University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and dedicated Recovery Theatre Practitioner/ODP to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure high standards of care for post-operative patients and safe transfer to critical care units or other areas.
- Meet the physical and health requirements for the role, with reasonable adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with medical staff and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient safety and treatment align with Trust policies.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of people, using IT systems and written communication.
- Work independently, using initiative and prioritizing workload in challenging situations.
- Maintain accurate records of observations, treatment, and patient care.
- Contribute to education and support junior staff, engaging with link roles in the unit.
- Demonstrate behaviors that meet the Trust Values: Patient First, Working Together, and Always Improving.
- Hold a qualified Nurse/ODP Adult or Dual registered Adult/Child qualification.
- Recovery/critical care unit experience is desirable but not essential.
- Be flexible with working patterns, including short shifts, early, late, twilight, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.
- Be willing to learn and adapt to a changing environment.
- Display a positive attitude and team player mindset.
Due to the nature of this role and service, this position is on-site, and the hours are as advertised. UHS employees enjoy a range of NHS discounts, a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and a generous pension scheme. Southampton is an attractive place to live and work, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The city offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
