Manager - Planning, Scheduling and Project Controls (MPA) Role

Overview

Our Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team at KPMG-UnitedKingdom is seeking an experienced Project Management Specialist to join our team in London, Manchester, or Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with industry-leading organisations to solve complex challenges in infrastructure projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in our team, you will be responsible for managing high-performing consulting teams, delivering client-facing work, and ensuring new processes and tools are designed with a strong end-user focus. Your expertise in project and programme controls, including earned value management, will be essential in helping our clients achieve their goals. Additionally, you will be expected to identify opportunities for new assignments, assist with bids, and stay up-to-date with technical developments affecting your work. You will also be responsible for thought leadership and assisting with the development of a KPMG view in your specific technical area.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need strong experience in leading and managing tasks, including monitoring, reporting, scheduling, cost control, risks management, change control, opportunities for improvement, and implementing project controls best practices. You will also need some experience working within a consulting environment or directly advising clients, either for another consultancy or in an advisory role in industry or government. Ideally, you will have experience in major projects and programmes, particularly in infrastructure sectors such as transport, defence, power, and utilities. Your proficiency in using Excel, MS Project, and Oracle P6 is also essential. Furthermore, you will need to be familiar with the delivery of major projects and programmes within the UK public sector and have a passion for project and programme controls. A relevant professional certification, such as APM PMQ/PPQ, MoP, MSP, or PRINCE2, would be highly desirable.
