About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Inclusive Education Specialist to join our team at The Springfield Project. This is a unique opportunity to work with children, families, and the wider community in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and developing our inclusion/SEND policy, working closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support children with special educational needs. As an Inclusive Education Specialist, you will provide high-quality care and early education to children aged 2-5, promoting an ethos of inclusive practice within the nursery.
Key Responsibilities:
- To promote an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported
- Implement the nursery's inclusion/SEND policy, ensuring it aligns with national guidelines and standards
- Collaborate with the nursery manager and staff to review and improve SEND practices and policies
- Support staff in upholding the nursery's ethos and approach to children with additional needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and professionals to access resources and expertise
- Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND-related topics, ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to support children
- Ensure that all children receive rich and stimulating experiences tailored to their age and stage of development
- Liaise with parents/carers to ensure they are involved in decision-making processes regarding their child's education and well-being
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to data protection and confidentiality protocols
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual with experience in SEN or Early Years settings. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and external agencies. A good understanding of SEND legislation and national guidelines is essential, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
