Senior Wheelchair Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our Wheelchair Service team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a Senior Wheelchair Therapist, you will play a key role in assessing and prescribing wheelchairs, seating systems, and postural support products for patients with long-term mobility impairments.
Main Responsibilities- Assess patients for wheelchair and seating system needs, using clinical reasoning skills and a range of treatment options.
- Prescribe and provide wheelchairs, seating systems, and postural support products, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Engineers, and administration staff, to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Support other grades of staff and students on placement, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the development of training programs for OT students, preceptees, and other specialist teams within NUH and local Social care settings.

Requirements- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, with HCPC registration.
- Experience working with a wide variety of patients in acute or community settings, with a focus on wheelchair and seating system provision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to assess, formulate a diagnosis, and plan patient management using clinical reasoning skills and a range of treatment options.
- Qualified car driver and owner, with evidence of manual therapy skills and ICT literacy.
