Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at Novanta. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for performing purchase order processing routines and delivery assurance, as well as stock replenishment routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Processing:
    • Raise routine purchase orders for production stock, R&D, and ad hoc requirements via our procurement system, with a focus on best quality, price, and delivery.
    • Monitor and expedite order deliveries and report any supplier delivery issues.
    • Assist the finance department with customs clearance of incoming purchase orders.
  • Data Maintenance:
    • Maintain supplier and component databases to ensure data integrity.
    • Maintain supplier databases with the latest contact details, including price, country of origin, and specification updates from suppliers.
    • Assist with stock take routines, including preparation and participation in periodic stock takes.
    • Manage supplier free issue goods for sub-contract assembly/finishing.
    • Analyze data, including reporting on inventory levels, re-order points, and suggested process improvements.
  • Other Tasks:
    • Perform general administration tasks related to the purchasing function.
    • Attend meetings in place of the Senior Buyer as required.
    • Perform other tasks commensurate with the role.

Requirements:

  • Previous purchasing and negotiation experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and ability to think on feet.
  • Confidence.
  • Confidentiality, trust, and integrity.
  • Proficient in MRP software and MS Office suite.
