About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Novanta. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of components, subcontract services, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of optical, electronic, and mechanical components, ensuring timely delivery and highest quality.
  • Source and procure subcontracting services, consumables, capital equipment, and ad hoc purchases.
  • Develop and implement supply chain improvement projects, including R&D and new product introduction support.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure supply continuity while maintaining a reasonable level of inventory liability.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers using global audit and qualification processes, manage relationships, and drive performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and qualify their products and processes.
  • Perform quality system assessments to confirm supplier structure, lean implementation, and effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Report on the performance of the Purchasing function, using KPIs.

Requirements

  • CIPS qualifications preferred.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance techniques.
