Clinical Trainer-Community Children's Nurse

As a Clinical Trainer-Community Children's Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialist nursing skills, knowledge, and expertise in the care and management of children and young people who have a confirmed continuing health care need.

You will be part of the wider Community Children's Nursing team with a high level of nursing expertise and be a role model to the nurses and students within the team. Your responsibilities will include providing clinical supervision and mentorship for junior staff, healthcare assistants, and students.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. To work in partnership with child, family, and carers; holistically in response to their specific needs, maximising their independence and quality of life.
  2. You will be responsible for training and education in packages of care for children who have Continuing Health Care needs.
  3. To support continuity of care within an integrated care organisation following the patient across the acute and community pathways.
  4. To lead on the teaching and development of healthcare professionals, children, young people, and carers.
  5. To provide clinical supervision and mentorship for junior staff, healthcare assistants as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • RN Child Branch/ RSCN
  • Have acute and preferably community experience.
  • Be able to travel independently across the community.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Degree in speciality (where available) or willing to work towards.
  • Relevant recent experience in acute paediatric/community setting.
  • Relevant experience at Band 5 or above.
  • Experience of audit initiatives and other quality initiatives.
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to high-quality patient care.
