Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • To enhance and expand both personal and team clinical competencies, knowledge, and professional practice through a structured local training framework, aligning with professional standards, NICE guidelines, SCIE recommendations, and KSF requirements to ensure the application of effective evidence-based practices.
  • To actively participate in and contribute to the organization’s clinical governance frameworks, upholding quality benchmarks and striving for ongoing enhancements in clinical and service excellence.

Primary Duties

Clinical Duties

  • To serve as a clinically-oriented Lead Clinical Nurse within Inpatient Wards, providing guidance and support while collaborating with Matrons and community specialist nurses.
  • To assume a consultative role for junior nursing staff, facilitating the development of their knowledge and skills.

  • To be knowledgeable and operate within the guidelines of the 1983 Mental Health Act.
  • To engage in clinical supervision as both a facilitator and participant.
  • To take responsibility for upholding clinical standards concerning the assessment of care requirements.
  • Collaborate with ward managers to ensure fair utilization of resources to maintain an effective service.

To promote the initiation and adherence to CQC standards, infection control protocols, and national patient safety guidelines.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • NMC professional registration.
  • Extensive experience in multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration.
  • Background in inpatient care.
  • Understanding of mental health conditions.

  • Experience in clinical management.
  • Capability to lead a team effectively.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
