Police Support Volunteers Coordinator

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Police Support Volunteers Coordinator. As a key member of our Public Safety team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the activities of Police Support Volunteers within Staffordshire Police.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Citizens in Policing portfolio, including Specials and Cadets. This will involve working closely with stakeholders to identify areas where volunteers can make a positive impact and developing the volunteer service force-wide by increasing the number of volunteers and variety of volunteering opportunities.
Main Responsibilities
- Point of Contact: Provide a point of contact for colleagues, members of the public, and partners regarding the recruitment and development of Police Support Volunteers, Cadets, and Special Constables.
- Development of Employer Supported Policing: Ensure that Staffordshire Police follows national guidance on Employer Supported Policing.
- Support to Citizens in Policing Portfolio: Attend, contribute to, and take minutes at meetings related to the Citizens in Policing portfolio.
- Daily Queries: Respond to daily queries from Volunteers, disseminate relevant information, and network within the organisation to provide concise responses or solutions to queries.
- Innovative Recruitment Strategies: Develop innovative ways to recruit new volunteers that are representative of our communities.
- Daily Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including distributing incoming/outgoing post, managing emails, arranging vetting/DBS checks for volunteers, and operating the Duty Sheet system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in Volunteer Management: Must have experience in managing volunteers and coordinating their activities.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain working relationships with a diverse range of people at all levels.
- Computer Literacy: Good standard of computer literacy, evidencing previous experience of Microsoft Office suite and the use of databases.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Ability to identify issues, use information effectively, and implement solutions.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is approximately £25,000 per annum, based on a 37-hour week. The role also offers a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a supportive working environment, and the chance to make a real difference in the community.
