Our BT Workplace team offers a full range of building maintenance services to their 7,000 buildings in the UK, encompassing commercial offices, telephone exchanges, call centres, and retail shops.

The **Lead M&E Surveyor Position** is a senior role within the Technical Team, reporting directly to the Technical Director. This position requires leadership and management of a small surveying team specializing in mechanical and electrical building engineering services expertise, as well as collaboration with counterparts in the Fabric Surveyor team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a UK team of M&E surveyors, taking ownership for a defined number of properties/area.
  • Developing BT's annual LCR (Life Cycle Replacement) and associated capital programme, including risk management processes, and overseeing subsequent programme delivery.
  • Providing technical guidance as requested to the CBRE BT Account team and BT colleagues planning works/installations impacting structural fabric or engineering services of buildings.
  • Coordinating M&E engineering professional services advice as required.
  • Maintaining compliance with BT and CBRE policies, relevant standards, and regulations.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the Life Cycle database.
  • Collaborating with surveying and project teams to improve and develop processes and documentation.
  • Liaising with operational delivery teams to ensure successful delivery of BT's objectives and providing technical advice during incident management when requested.
  • Demonstrating experience and understanding of various procurement forms, particularly the NEC and JCT standard contract forms.
  • Able to work efficiently across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in quickly understanding and applying standard procedures associated with project delivery.
  • Proven commercial experience on projects.
  • Strong IT literacy, specifically a good knowledge of Excel.

Based on industry standards and considering factors such as cost of living and market rates, we anticipate an estimated salary range of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum.
