We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing medical expertise and leadership to our community mental health team.
Main Duties:- Attend weekly clinical MDT meetings and participate in discussions around high-risk clients.
- Liaise with acute hospitals, specialist eating disorders units, and local Mental Health teams.
- Provide formulation of complex cases with medical and psychiatric needs.
- Lead in the monitoring and treatment of physical complications of eating disorders.
- Supervise the team in charge of medical monitoring and management of high-risk patients.
- Maintain an active involvement in the treatment of patients admitted to medical/psychiatric wards.
- Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, and risks to health and safety.
- Work closely with consultant colleagues to provide office hours cover and annual leave cover.
- Write reports for patients in education, training, work, and/or accessing benefits.
- Ensure good medical standing for CPD and up-to-date practice in line with GMC guidelines.
- Registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register.
- CCT, CESR, or within 6 months of expected CCT date.
- Meets Royal College of Psychiatrists criteria for appointment to the post of Consultant.
