The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Child Law Paralegal to join our team. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing client documentation and administering files
  • Maintaining an organized filing system for allocated cases
  • Preparing client invoices and managing banking slips
  • Assisting clients with updates when fee earners are unavailable
  • Ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies
  • Preparing bundles and conducting legal research
  • Drafting legal documents and case handling under supervision
  • Preparing court forms and statements under supervision
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant Procedure Rules and SRA Code of Conduct
  • Appropriate use of time recording software
  • Dealing with incoming enquiries and redirecting to appropriate personnel

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working as a paralegal or assistant in a law firm
  • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships
  • Competence in Microsoft Office products
  • Calm and confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous legal work experience or academic knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
