Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Applications professional to join our team at Permanent Futures Ltd. As an Applications Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting business-critical systems and applications in an ITIL-aligned environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain applications servers, web servers, log files, disk space, and MS-SQL databases.
  • Escalate and resolve application-related issues within the Application and Data Team.
  • Provide second-line support and incident management through to resolution.
  • Natural problem-solving with the ability to apply previous experience to new problems.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers, stakeholders, and departmental ICT teams to deliver patch/releases of applications.
  • Maintain middleware, including IIS, MS-SQL Server, Active Directory, ASP, and .NET.
  • Work on cloud and container technologies, including Kubernetes.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Tableau Dashboards.
  • Report writing using PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL.
  • Daily support of COTS and web-based software applications.
Requirements
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, including incident management, change management, and problem management.
  • Ability to understand business logic, technical tools, and be an analytic thinker.
  • Knowledge of application design and development, including agile methodologies, application and database design, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Understanding of application backup, restores, and the Application Disaster Recovery (DR) process.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience in a 2nd Line Application Support role.
  • ITIL v3/4 Foundation Certification.
