This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to utilise their skills in leadership, clinical expertise, and genetic counselling to shape the future of the Genetic Counselling service within the West Midlands Regional Genetic Centre.

This role requires a dynamic and visionary leader who can work effectively with the GC management team to develop and implement strategic plans for the service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cancer genetics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and influence others.

As a key member of the Clinical Genetics leadership team, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing expert genetic counselling, predominantly within cancer genetics, and working closely with colleagues to deliver comprehensive genetic testing to patients across the region.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to contribute to national bodies and committees within Genetics, sharing their expertise and influencing the direction of genetic services in the UK.

The estimated salary for this position is between £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of strategic plans for the Genetic Counselling service
  • Providing expert genetic counselling to patients, predominantly within cancer genetics
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver comprehensive genetic testing to patients across the region
  • Contributing to national bodies and committees within Genetics
