Kings Mill Residence is a dynamic and caring environment for children and young people with a learning disability.



We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Child Care Officer, working 20 hours per week in the residence.



Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide support and care to our children and young people, enabling them to achieve their full potential.



Key Responsibilities


  • Provide personal care and support to children and young people, promoting their physical and emotional well-being
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in daily living activities, such as meal times and leisure pursuits, to promote social interaction and engagement
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of personalized care plans, ensuring the needs of each individual are met
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care provision


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • A minimum of two years' experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Physical and mental stamina to cope with the demands of the role
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team
