As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing urgent shipments across road, air, and sea freight. Your key responsibilities will include finding the best carrier deals, supporting planners, and driving cost-saving initiatives while ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the shared inbox, allocating tasks, handling daily requests and new orders from internal teams, external clients, and hauliers in a responsive manner.
  • Identify and prioritize urgent shipments, ensuring efficient progression of all requests.
  • Gather quotes from hauliers and carriers across road, air, and sea freight, particularly for time-sensitive jobs.
  • Evaluate and select the most cost-effective carriers, considering transport availability and order requirements.
  • Provide logistics support and collaborate with planners to choose the most efficient and appropriate transport options.
  • Update internal trackers to log costs and selected carriers, ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Process and cross-check carrier invoices against quoted rates, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives by negotiating better rates, optimizing routes, and enhancing transport efficiency.
  • Attend meetings with hauliers, suppliers, and stakeholders to discuss rates, service levels, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Lead and contribute to cost-reduction projects, focusing on improving processes across road, air, and sea transport.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing of requests and keep them informed on progress.
  • Coordinate with 3PL providers for logistics within the UK and internationally for palletized goods.
  • Ensure timely goods-in deliveries and research 3PL options to balance cost-effectiveness and delivery timelines.
  • Support ADL 3PL operations from receipt through to dispatch in coordination with Planning and Stores teams.

Requirements:

  • We are seeking a candidate with experience in Supply Chain Logistics, 3PL Distribution, or a similar role. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail. Strong planning and organizational skills are essential, along with outstanding interpersonal abilities and a passion for delivering first-class customer service across road, air, and sea transport.
  • You will be expected to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with both external customers and internal stakeholders at all levels, using email, phone, and face-to-face interactions. Proven experience in coordinating third-party logistics providers is essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Qualifications in logistics or transport (covering road, air, and sea) are highly desirable. If you are driven by efficiency and continuous improvement, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to apply your expertise in logistics.

Why Work with Us:

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a 37-hour working week with flexible working options and a half day on a Friday. You will also have access to training and development programs, generous annual leave, and a pension scheme. Our company values diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
