POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented Maritime Litigation Counsel to become a part of our London office.

This role will involve a diverse range of maritime and contractual advisory tasks, including handling disputes related to charter agreements, bills of lading, vessel sale agreements, shipbuilding contracts, and sales of goods, with the potential to engage in some admiralty matters.

The primary focus will be on contentious issues, although there will be regular advisory and non-contentious responsibilities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience, possessing expertise in advising on physical transport agreements (such as charter agreements, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment, sales contracts, and ship management agreements) and managing disputes in the English High Court and arbitration settings.

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to actively contribute to practice and business development initiatives, which may include authoring articles and briefings for various publications and clients.

Some international travel may be necessary.
